Description
Abstract
mundo.
Abstract: In the following text we trail Clifford Geertz’s criticism to the configurative concept of culture, which is derived from romantic theory. With that intention we start on the reformulation of the term “culture” performed by Geertz in his early works, which gave birth to what Geertz himself called “semiotical concept of culture”, to speak later about the evolution that concept suffered in Geertz’s thinking when he focused on the socio-political situation of the world after the different events in XX century. In the analysis of this situation we will center on the concept “nation-state” and how difficult it is using it to understand properly the new world’s face.
