Description
Abstract
The study of disability has been a recurring theme in the field of social sciences and, specifically, in sociology, without necessarily having gone as deeply as would have been desirable in the inclusive perception of the group by both public and private institutions. In order to assess the ways in which this has been contemplated as well as its scope, this work explores in qualitative terms the moderating aspects of the inclusion of people with disabilities, with special attention to their insertion in the labor market, through the discursive analysis carried out with the group of technicians and managers of organizations, as well as technicians of the public administration with competences in diversity. The aim is to identify the key elements of the institutional discourse on the initiative and autonomy of people with disabilities, analyzing how these narratives influence the construction of their identity and the opportunities for social participation. Through this approach, the representations, norms and practices that shape the institutional framework and its impact on the daily lives of these people are examined. The results of the research show different appreciations as well as revealing degrees of consensus that will motivate a greater and better inclusion of people with disabilities in the always complex scenario of the labor world where the wills, policies and actions of the public and private spheres will allow a full inclusion of a group that is often made invisible by society as a whole.
