Description
Abstract
Abstract: This study deals with teaching visual arts at college, emphasizingits value as a therapeutic tool. Our approach focuses on the artistic discipline as a vehicle for the transmission of ideas and feelings through image creation and analysis. We present our educational method in the subject of Teaching and Learning Visual Arts for Early Children Educator degree students. In this visually oriented world the understanding of the importance of art therapy in the education levels would facilitate the integration between teachers and students through psycho- emotional and educational communication. Many Anglo-Saxon cultural institutions and universities are already offering degrees specialized in this field. This trend should be adapted by European universities in order to successfully prepare for future education professionals.
