Abstract
Partiendo del hecho de que el cante flamenco es poesía cantada, el autor del
artículo da a conocer algunos de los temas recurrentes en dicha poesía, y las
consecuencias de su frecuente transmisión oral; aborda la cuestión de la
necesaria brevedad del texto flamenco; y expone los diversos tipos de formas
estróficas usadas en el flamenco. Para terminar alude a la relación del cantaor
con el texto que canta.
Given the fact that flamenco singing is a kind of s ung poetry, the author of the article presents some of the recurring themes i n this poetry, and the consequences of its frequent oral transmission. He addresses the issue of the necessary brevity of the text in flamenco, and expo ses the various types of strophic forms used in this art.
