Abstract
Uno de los temas y fenómenos educativos que más preocupa a la política educativa de varios países
occidentales es la violencia, agresión y maltrato físico y psíquico que se producen en los centros escolares.
Basta ver como cada día se investiga, publica y escribe más sobre este hecho.
Tenemos que reconocer que los profesores e investigadores y la misma política educativa ha estado más preocupada por el rendimiento académico, fracaso escolar, que por la violencia escolar. Pero nos
estamos dando cuenta que cada día hay menos analfabetos académicos pero más analfabetos emocionales,
sociales y sentimentales.
El autor nos ofrece en este trabajo un recorrido breve de la violencia escolar y medidas políticas
tomadas en países occidentales y los resultados obtenidos con estas medidas
An area of concern for western education policies is violence, aggressive behaviour and physical and mental abuse that has been taking place in schools. This is shown by the fact that more investigations are written and published every day. It is clear that teachers, investigators and education policies are more concerned with academic perfomance and academic failure, rather than violence in schools. However we realise that every day there are fewer illiterates and fewer emotional, social and sentimental skills among the students.
