Description
Abstract
This work, descriptive-interpretative and quantitative, offers a review and update of the uses of casi (‘almost’) in current Spanish. In the first part, the grammatical description of casi focuses on presenting its modification and position, the combination with other elements, its flexion and derivation, as well as the alternation with other units. In the second part, the pragmatic description deals with its attenuating value, its focality, and other considerations such as its interpolation and the combination with the verb ser (‘to be’).
