Abstract
La agricultura en Cuba encierra un papel significativo y estratégico para la economía. El buen
desempeño de la misma, sobre bases sustentables, resulta determinante en busca de la seguridad alimentaria, en sus cuatro ejes fundamentales. Los principios agroecológicos constituyen una
alternativa real, posible, tomado de nuestras propias raíces y complementada con los adelantos
de la ciencia, la tecnología y la innovación pueden garantizar el equilibrio económico social y
ecológico del campo cubano. El actual escenario dado por las transformaciones más recientes en
la economía y en particular en el sector agropecuario, están encaminadas a alcanzar los objetivos
señalados y reclaman un modelo totalmente nuevo en la gestión económico-productiva, donde
predomina la pequeña y media escala productiva, la diversidad de formas de propiedad y de
gestión, donde la interoperación cooperativa en los territorios y, los encadenamiento productivos-valor emergen como una necesidad imperiosa, ante el proceso de actualización del modelo
económico cubano.
Summary: The agriculture in Cuba plays a significant and strategic role for the economy. The good per- formance of it, on sustainable bases, is decisive in the search of the food security, in its four funda- mental axes. The agroecological principles constitute a real and possible alternative, taken from our own roots and supplemented with the advances of the science, technology and innovation they can guarantee the socio- economic and ecological balance of the Cuban country side. The current scenario given by the most recent transformations in the economy and in particular in the agricultural sector, is guided to reach the signed objectives which claim for a completely new model in the economic-productive administration, where prevail the small and half productive scale, the diversity in ways of property and administration, where the cooperative interoperation in the territories and the linkage productive-value emerges like an imperious necessity, facing the process of bringing updated the Cuban economic pattern.
