Description
Abstract
Within the context of trends in Higher Education, we present a brief review of the subject of learning in the global context in Colombia and, specifically, a Faculty of Medicine in Bogotá. We also explain the need to have a better understanding of the learning approaches of medical students, as well as of the different basic medical, clinical, public health, social and human training subject groups. With regards to how students learn, it is necessary to know how lecturers teach, and understand the correlation between teaching and learning processes. This will allow the promotion of changes in students that will assure a greater appropriation and use of knowledge, which will very probably improve the quality of medical education and have a positive impact on health care.
