Abstract
Es bien sabido que el uso de las notas
del
traductor a pie de página
no es
algo
que
guste
demasiado a traductores
y a lectores
. Hay opiniones en
contra y a favor de su uso pero desde luego es una práctica totalmente
desechada en la traducción literaria porque arruina la lectura fluida del
texto.
Sin embargo en otro tipo de texto
s, como los textos filosófico
s
,
la
cuestión,
por el
momento
, no está clara del todo
y
precisa de un estudio
pormenorizado.
Este trabajo analiza en primer lugar las peculiaridades de
los textos
filosóficos en comparación co
n los textos literarios y los científicos y
se
consideran
los problemas
generales
de traducción que
puede
n
conlleva
r la
traducción de
dichos textos; en segundo lugar se ofrecen diversas opiniones
a favor y en contra del uso de las notas del traductor y po
r último se
estudian diversos ejemplos de textos filosóficos que precisarían de una nota
del traductor que aclarase la elección realizada por el traductor.
It is well known that transl ators and readers do not like the foot notes. There are opinions in favor and against their use and regarding literary translation they have been rejected as they might spoil the pleasure of reading. However, in other type of texts, such as philosophical texts, this issue has no t been clarified up to now and further research is required. Firstly, t his paper a nalyz es the special features of philosop hical texts in comparison with literary and scientific texts and it evaluates the general problems of transla tion of those texts; secondly, this paper gathers different opinions in favor and against th e use of translator foot notes and finally , this paper examines several philosophical texts in which a translator note should be used to clarify the choice made by the translator.
