- PublicationOpen AccessEmpleo de fonotecas virtuales como método de apoyo docente: una aplicación al área de organización de empresas(2010-01-01) González Sánchez, Rocío; Blanco Callejo, MiguelThe European Higher Education Area is promoting the adoption of dynamic and participative educational methodologies that could increase student’s practical implication. In this sense, the use of audio files from virtual audio-libraries from radio stations, particularly, audio files from specialized business&economics information programs are really useful. These programs have been designed with a “broadcasting orientation” that could get student’s better knowledge of theoretical contents, motivate them and increase their interest in updated information, promoting TIC and Internet use. The didactical and motivational results of an experience with Business Management students shows that this methodology could be suitable. The use of these files is considered quite interesting as a vehicle to transmit updated news and an invitation to student’s critical reflection and discussion. In addition to that, the results of the experience are showing that the use of this methodology satisfy students and meet their expectations. The simplicity of the tools used, that could be found in all Spanish faculties, and the free, open and public access to the audio files in the Internet, invite professors to use this methodology not only in academic programs in business, but with any academic program.
Servicio de Publicaciones, 2010-01-01) Almerich, Gonzalo; Suárez, Jesús M.; Orellana, Natividad; Díaz, Mª IsabelThe integration of Information and communication technologies (ICT) requires the teachers to be competent, both technologically and pedagogically. In this work, the competences in ICT of teachers are studied, in particular the relationship between the technological competences and the pedagogical competences. For it, it has been used a survey design and a sample, randomly selected, of the non university teachers of the Comunidad Valenciana, to those that have been applied a questionnaire. It has found a significant relationship between technological competences and pedagogical competences in the sense that the former represent both a base as a facilitator of the latter. This means that the teachers must know the TIC to integrate them in their daily practice. However, both the relationship and its structure should not be simplified.
Servicio de Publicaciones, 2010-01-01) Lozano Martínez, Josefina; Alcaraz García, Salvador; Colás Bravo, PilarThis study reports the effect of an educational intervention based on the understanding of emotions and beliefs in students with autism spectrum disorder (ASD). The research was conducted on seven pupils of Primary Education and five of Secondary Education. A unique group, pre-test and post-test, design was employed. To collect information, didactic materials were elaborated. For the assessment of effect of this teaching on the social daily skills, interviews with teachers were administered. The results showed statistically significant differences between levels of understanding of emotions and beliefs before and after the educational intervention and interviews we report positive effects in daily social skills. These results suggest that the process of educational intervention carried out on the basis of the education of the understanding of emotions and beliefs can produce positive effects in the social skills.

Servicio de Publicaciones, 2010-01-01) Vilaplana Prieto, CristinaThe objective of this paper is to ascertain the importance of life learning as an element of for achieving a successful ageing using the Elders's Living Conditions Survey (2006) We estimate a bivariate probit model between satisfaction during retirement and participation in third age university programs and a bivariate ordered probit between the Quality of Life Scale previously defined and participation. Conditioned on participating, we observe an increase in the probability of satisfaction and the probability of enjoying good (very good) quality of life. For those who live alone, these probabilities increase when they participate, but decrease otherwise. Although women make the majority of participants, men experiment a higher increase in satisfaction and in quality of life when they participate.

Servicio de Publicaciones, 2010-01-01) González Gascón, Elena; Juan, María D. de; Parra Azor, José F.; Sarabia Sánchez, Francisco J.; Kanther, AndreasThe European Higher Education Area (EHEA) requires students to be responsible for their own academic tasks and adopt active learning strategies. If the teacher is not aware of the variables that affect self-regulated learning strategies, the teaching-learning process could be set up inadequately. We tested a model for self-regulated learning which considers the class context, cognitions, motivations, attitudes and learning (as the dependent variable). The sample consisted of 192 undergraduate students enrolled in marketing classes (3rd, 4th, 5th year) at three Spanish universities (two public and one private). Using structural equation modeling, we found that the class context and work expectations have an influence over the perceived autonomy, perceived competence and the attitudes of students. Moreover, different learning strategies are related to different motivations. Finally, the impact of the findings and their consequences for the teaching-learning process are considered.
