- PublicationOpen AccessFisuras y esperanzas. Los colectivos artísticos en Guatemala a partir de la firma de la paz.(Universidad de Murcia, Servicio de Publicaciones., 2024) García von Hoegen, Magda AngélicaThe signing of the Peace Agreements in Guatemala was an historical milestone that represented a new social, political, economic and cultural era. Almost 30 years later, little has been reflected about the impact that this event had on the country’s artistic sectors and on the development of cultural movements. From the perspectives of cultural assemblage, microhistory and oral history, this work aims to analyze the processes of referent groups in diverse performing arts, their challenges of permanence, strengths and tensions in connection with substantive social dimensions. Likewise, study the conductive thread with future artists generations. It is concluded that there are artistic movements in Guatemala, whose legacy and impact on public spaces, are consolidated in fundamental contributions in national and international cultural, social and political spheres.
- PublicationOpen AccessLiberación cultural y revolución social en los frentes de liberación homosexual en México durante la larga década de los 60.(Universidad de Murcia, Servicio de Publicaciones., 2024) Blasco Lisa, SandraThis article rescues a utopian, revolutionary and intersectional component that characterized the Mexican sexual liberation movement of the 1960s and 1970s. The objective is to understand the union between cultural/material demands with the firm will to generate a cultural hegemony in the social base. This recovery of lost experiences and meanings of the past can serve to think about how the word revolution and the integral politics of social emancipation have evolved in Mexico up to the present day.
- PublicationOpen AccessUna aproximación integral al origen del champán en el Río Magdalena (Siglos XVI-XIX).(Universidad de Murcia, Servicio de Publicaciones., 2024) Nieva Sanz, Daniel MiguelThe connection between the interior of the New Kingdom of Granada and the ports of the Caribbean coast, as well as its link with the Crown since the mid-16th century, was possible through a navigation system supported by river boats that covered the navigable course of the Magdalena River. The definition of these nautical gadgets, beyond the established denomination, requires the assessment of the conceptual, morphological and functional aspects of these champanes, which played a strategic role for at least three centuries. In this way, the present application of a historiographical methodology with a nautical perspective on primary, manuscript and edited sources, as well as a comprehensive analysis, has allowed greater precision in the definition of champan and its role in one of the most relevant communication routes of Hispanic America throughout the Modern Age.
- PublicationOpen Access"El pueblo persigue ideas, no caudillos". El Progresista de Nogoyá, la política, y las candidaturas a gobernador de Entre Ríos, bajo la presidencia de Julio Argentino Roca.(Universidad de Murcia, Servicio de Publicaciones., 2024) Herrero, FabiánThe Progressive of Nogoyá (Entre Ríos) reflects on how to think and do politics within the new Roquista order that began in 1880 and wonders, at the same time, from a particular situation, about the candidates that circulate for the renewal of the provincial government. Both perspectives allow us to analyze, very initially, by the way, how this change of era is experienced. The Entre Ríos newspaper, which is what we are trying to prove here, presents a barely linear discourse, where under the figure of the “observer” it is shown to be in favor of a policy governed by those parameters and, at other times, it intervenes as a “participant” and, later , does so directly as a “partisan participant”, that is, as an active actor in factional politics. Within this non-linear discourse, it is also important to qualify its own self-perception by defining itself as an “independent newspaper”, which only addresses general issues of the local order and, if possible, provincial. We try to see how, in the framework of electoral politics, strategies used by EP result, following Philippe Braud on this point, with the notion of “creating the impression” of being the legitimate spokesperson of the voters, but, also, Michel De Certeau, with his perspective of “making the other speak.” At the same time, with this same purpose, we also freely take the proposal of this last historian to “create a scene of authority.”

- PublicationOpen AccessLa administración de la escasez. El mercado de harinas en Buenos Aires y otros puntos del Río de la Plata entre mediados del Siglo XVIII y comienzos del XIX.(Universidad de Murcia, Servicio de Publicaciones., 2024) Pelozatto Reilly, Mauro LuisThis article seeks to offer a descriptive analysis of the interventions of the Cabildo and other authorities in Buenos Aires, around the shortage of flour. We understand the latter as fundamental, due to their direct relationship with agricultural production and with the preparation and consumption of bread. In order to comply with what has been stated, we based ourselves fundamentally on the analysis of proceedings and other official records on the treatment of the lack of grains and their derivates. To identify similarities and differences at the regional level, we include examples from other towns and cities. The period studied is crossed by the demographic and economic growth of the city and its countryside, the greater demand of food, political and institutional reforms. We start from the hypothesis that the shortage was associated with bad crops, commercial excesses, speculation and fraud by bakers and millers, who concentrated a much of the supply.
