Abstract
Históricamente el estudio de las proporciones
supone uno de los campos de mayor atractivo donde se integran perfectamente Arte y Geometría en la creación consciente de obras. La Divina Proporción puede ser considerada un emblema de este conocimiento
compartido. El interés que demuestran por ella artistas, arquitectos, matemáticos, filósofos, estetas… aumenta con el tiempo y en este estudio se expone una revisión del fenómeno, analizando las fases que han convertido una sencilla relación geométrica en el mito contemporáneo que la identifica como la clave de la belleza universal. Se constata cómo los artistas buscan apoyo en la Ciencia, en este caso la Geometría, para encontrar respuestas en su anhelo de búsqueda de la perfección en la obra de arte y se cuestiona la veracidad de numerosos estudios que atribuyen el uso de esta proporción a artistas y obras de todas las épocas desde la especulación subjetiva.

It is ve rified how the artists look for support in Science, in this case the Geometry, to find answers in their yearning of search of the perfection in the work of art and the tru thfulness of numerous studies is questio ned that attribute the use of this proportion to artists and works of all the times from the subjective speculation.
