Abstract
It has been compared, from the qualitative point of view, the benthic marine algal flora of the Balearic lslands to floras from other spots in the Mediterranean and Atlantic seas, measuring the resemblance by the Sorensen index. As conclussions we can stand out that: - The resemblance index decreases with the distance but is not proportional to it. - Corsica, the Balearic lslands and the Southern ltaly belong to a warmer central-mediterranean zone. - There is a great difference between the western mediterranean flora and the eastern mediterranean one.
Se ha comparado, desde el punto de vista cualitativo, la flora algológica bentónica marina de las Islas Baleares con floras de otros puntos del Mediterráneo y del Atlántico, calculándose su similitud según el índice de Sorensen. Como conclusiones podemos resaltar: - El índice de similitud disminuye con la distancia, pero no es proporcional a ella. - Córcega, Baleares y el Sur de Italia pertenecen a una zona centromediterránea más cálida. - Existe una clara diferencia entre la flora del Mediterráneo occidental y la del Mediterráneo oriental.
