Abstract
El principal propósito del presente artículo es el de llevar a cabo una reconstrucción y proyección de la lectura procedente de la historia intelectual de Enzo Traverso en torno a ciertas formas de melancolía. A través de un análisis conceptual del tratamiento de dicho concepto, evidenciaremos de qué maneras la lectura del historiador italiano propone una interpretación heterodoxa de esta fijación afectiva al pasado que trasciende la matriz psicoanalítica que ha tendido a prefigurarla como una patología. Ello nos permitirá trazar una crítica a ciertas formas de interpretar la melancolía a través de la recuperación de su potencial crítico y emancipador.
Abstract: The main purpose of this article is to delve further into Enzo Traverso's intellectual history-based reading of certain forms of melancholy. By means of a conceptual analysis of how this concept is framed, this text will highlight the ways in which the Italian historian's interpretation offers an unorthodox interpretation of this affective fixation on the past—one that transcends the psychoanalytic framework, which has often prefigured it as a pathology. This will allow us to critique certain interpretations of melancholy by recovering its critical and emancipatory potential.
