Abstract
This study aims to delineate the relationship of the Spanish writer Car - men de Burgos with the Portuguese culture and the lusophone world in general, Brazil in particular. Through the analysis of her work and the knowledge of her time, this research attempts to clarify because there are no works written by this author in Portu - guese language and because there are not many studies on her work written neither by Portuguese either Brazilian scholars. In this attempt, is very important the contribution of the former director and the librarian of the Cervantes Institute in Recife, Pernam - buco
Este estudio tiene como objetivo intentar delinear las relaciones de la es - critora española Carmen de Burgos con la cultura portuguesa y con el mundo lusofóno en general, Brasil en particular. A través de sus escritos y los testigos de su época, esta investigación ha intentado esclarecer por qué no hay ninguna obra escrita por ella y por qué no hay muchos estudios por parte portuguesa y brasileña. En ese intento, ha sido muy importante la contribución del exdirector y de la bibliotecaria del Instituto Cervantes de Recife en Pernambuco.
