Description
Abstract
In the Region of Murcia, there exists a small village called Portmán, which possesses a high value in terms of heritage, culture, nature, and science, although it seems to be hidden. That is why this work aims to uncover the charm of this territory through the sustainable development of the village on all levels: scientific, cultural, social, heritage, environmental, etc. In order to revive tourism in Portmán, this study is conducted to highlight its ecology and history, giving the deserved importance to the protagonists of this story, the residents. The study is based on the territorial planning methodology presented by Professor Domingo Gómez Orea. Nine environmental units have been identified and developed, describing the history and current situation of each one. Subsequently, they have been evaluated and a SWOT matrix has been assessed and constructed, which has yielded four weaknesses, threats, strengths, and opportunities, considered to be the most representative for the territorial system under study. The analysis has allowed the proposal of action lines aimed at addressing the deficiencies of the environmental units taking advantage of their strengths and opportunities. One of these lines involves the creation of a scientific-cultural route. This 2 route has been carefully developed, including each of the environmental units as stops and taking into account the residents of the village for its implementation. Consequently, the route promotes the local economy, social integration, inclusion of the residents, sustainable tourism, and regeneration of the village by fostering its heritage, territory, and landscape. Keywords: Portmán,Portmán, cultura, historia, patrimonio, territorio, matriz DAFO y líneas de actuación.
