Description
Abstract
Today’s teachers’ duty is far more complex than just a few years ago: their pedagogical workload has increased and it is far more diverse, it is also required a personal and moral implication with their schools and their professional culture, all within a certain discredit of the profession. In Physical Education there is also a problem with the identification of its body of knowledge and its constant fight for increasing its own status and of its teachers. Based on these assumptions, the competencies that are required for a teacher are a combination of technical, practical and ethical capacities that can make a critical, reflexive and involved professional.
