Abstract
El artículo se centra en el movimiento de escuelas ocupadas
que tuvo lugar en numerosos centros de educación secundaria
de Porto Alegre (Brasil) durante el año 2016; donde, más
allá de reclamar el derecho a una educación de calidad, la
participación estudiantil impulsó un proceso de empoderamiento
comunitario basado en la competencia ética, cívica
y política. De este modo, los procesos de aprendizaje contribuyeron
a ampliar la visión de la educación, traspasando
las fronteras de la institución escolar mediante la implementación
de iniciativas y/o experiencias que comportaron la
transformación de la sociedad.
The article focuses on the movement of occupied schools that took place in numerous secondary education centers in Porto Alegre (Brazil) during 2016; there, beyond calling for the right to quality education, student participation fostered a process of community empowerment based on ethical, civic and political competence. In this way, the learning processes helped to broaden the vision of education, crossing the boundaries of the school as an institution through the implementation of initiatives and/or experiences that led to the transformation of society.
