Description
Abstract
This subject already was studied by Rafael Serra Ruiz several years ago. Nevertheless, later some new sources have appeared. The Military Order of Saint John or Order of the Hospital obtained a small lordship in the kingdom of Murcia during the Thirteenth Century. The Order managed to preserve this lorship in the Fourteenth and Fifteenth centuries. There was a Hospitaller commandery with its commander in the kingdom of Murcia from the Fourteenth Century. It was the commandery of Archena and Calasparra. The Order developed some military activities here. However, the Hospitaller work of settlement was much more important in the Fifteenth century.
