Abstract
A principios del siglo XIX el Virreinato del Río de la Plata vivió dos sucesos históricos
que cambiarían para siempre la Historia de este territorio: las Invasiones Inglesas y los
procesos de independencia que la llevarían a emanciparse de su metrópoli. Esta
investigación tiene como objetivo fundamental recuperar la figura femenina en estos
acontecimientos y poner de manifiesto la relevancia que la labor de estas féminas en dichos
hitos. Se pretende observar su participación en éstos, su influencia y su peso. Mediante el
rastreo documental y bibliográfico, se procura una novedosa aportación documental,
revalorizando la figura femenina y su participación en los procesos Independentistas en el
área rioplatense. No se puede ignorar la figura de la mujer pensando que fue únicamente una
simple espectadora. Éstas también fueron protagonistas y vivieron en primera persona dichos
sucesos, olvidadas por el paso de la Historia
