Abstract
Thanks to Retronews, we went through the obituaries and analysed the treatment of the disappearances of the two Goncourt brothers in the press. By comparing these texts, we wanted to examine the place they occupied in the world of letters 26 years apart. This research helps us to understand better the infuence of naturalism at the end of the century novel.
Grâce à Retronews, nous avons parcouru les articles nécrologiques et analysé le traitement des disparitions des deux frères Goncourt dans la presse. En confrontant ces textes, nous avons souhaité nous pencher sur la place qu’ils occupaient dans le monde des lettres à vingt-six ans d’intervalle. Ce travail de recherche nous aide à mieux comprendre l’emprise du naturalisme sur le roman de la fn du siècle.
