dc.description.abstract	Resumen: Lejos de constituir una colección homogénea, las Chroniques italiennes pueden ser leídas como la aventura de una escritura, en el sentido que Stendhal, decepcionado por su primer tratamiento de la crónica, va alejándose, de un texto a otro, de la traducción para volver a trabajar el material narrativo. Dramatización parece ser la palabra maestra de este trabajo a partir de los textos italianos. Las Chroniques italiennes participan así plenamente de esta estética de la nouvelle que se instala en la primera mitad del siglo XIX y que descansa sobre la poderosa tensión dramática que engendra el relato al oponer violentamente personajes transformados en fuerza de la naturaleza. Esta tensión culmina con la caída, dónde la muerte representa la apoteosis la heroína.	es
dc.description.abstract	Abstract: Far from being a homogeneous collection, The Italian Chronicles may be read as a venture into writing in that Stendhal, being disappointed by a first treatment of the chronicle, strays, text after text, from translation in order to rework the narrative material. Dramatization may well be the key word of the work, based on Italian texts. The Italian Chronicles thus partakes fully of that aesthetic of the short story, which came into use in the first part of the nineteenth century, and rests upon the powerful dramatic tension that the narrative creates by pitting violently characters turned into Goliaths against one another. That tension culminates in the fall, where death figures as the apotheosis of the heroine.	en_EN
