Abstract
Antonio Grau, hijo del “Rojo el Alpargatero”, grabó en 1928 unos fandanguillos
mineros, en cuya composición colaboraron, además de él mismo, su hermano Pedro y el
músico Fernando Gravina. Tras unos breves apuntes biográficos sobre todos ellos,
analizamos las características musicales de dichos cantes, comparándolos con los
fandangos mineros que años más tarde grabará Antonio Piñana y que tienen en aquellos
un claro precedente.
Antonio Grau, son of the “Rojo el Alpargatero”, recorded in 1928 some fandanguillos mineros, in whose composition collaborated, besides himself, his brother Pedro and the musician Fernando Gravina. After a few brief biographical notes on all of them, we analyze the musical characteristics of these songs, comparing them with the fandangos mineros which Antonio Piñana will record years later and that have in the previous ones a clear precedent.
