Abstract
La autora de este artículo describe un proyecto de alfabetización de personas adultas llevado a cabo por profesores y alumnos de Magisterio, pertenecientes a la Universidad de Fortaleza, en el estado de Ceará, Brasil. La profesora Vasconcelos, profesora de Pedagogía en dicha Universidad, elaboró, implantó y coordinó el proyecto. Los alfabetizandos eran empleados de dicha Universidad, muchos de los cuales no sabían leer ni escribir correctamente. La metodología seguida para tal fin se ajusta a las orientaciones metodológicas de Paulo Freire. El proceso de concienciación utilizado no sólo sirvió para conseguir resultados positivos con los analfabetos, Jardineros, bomberos, vigilantes, mecánicos, que trabajaban en el Campus universitario); sino también para preparar en la práctica freiriana de alfabetización a los alumnos de Magisterio que participaron como activos agentes en la experiencia educativa.
The writer of this article describes an adult literacy programme implemented by teachers and teacher's training students, from Universidad de Fortaleza, in the State of Ceará, Brazil. Professor Vasconcelos, who teaches Pedagogy there, worked out, introduced and co-ordinated the project. People attending the literacy programme were Univesity employees, who were unable to write and read correctly. The methodology followed to achieve the target was the one inspired in Paulo Freire. The process of becoming aware used, helped not only to achieve positive results with illiterates (gardeners, firemen, wardens, mechanics working at University Campus), but also to train teacher's training students, working as active agents on the programme, in Freirian literacy practice.
