Abstract
----------------
In this work, it is offered a commentary on the passage from the Sedulian work in which Jesus instructs his disciples to entrust to them the tasks of the deitatis opus. The fragment is analysed stylistically, and as a consequence it is observed how the poet of the fifth century joins the direct speech and the imperative mode with similes. The selection of the subject accounts, in addition, for the interest that the poet could have in censoring paid work. It is interesting to emphasise in the conclusion the use of non-evangelical sources by Sedulius.
