Description
Abstract
Abstract: Aims: To determine the perception that medical residents who take postgraduatestudies have towards the use of free statistical software such as jamovi versus acommercial one such as IBM SPSS.Methodology: Observational, cross-sectional and descriptive study, in which a surveywas administered to those attending a workshop on the use of jamovi. Results: On a 5-point rating scale, attendees rated the use of jamovi positively, since, compared to IBM SPSS, not only offered them all their advantages, but also it allowedthem to save time (Mean = 3.90; p = 0.015) while feeling more confident in the resultsthat it offers (Mean = 3.76; p = 0.030), although they warn that there are still manyroutines to implement (Mean = 3.31; p = 1). Additionally, residents are motivated bythe current use of jamovi (Mean = 4.38; p <0.001), even considering substituting IBMSPSS for it (Mean = 4.34; p <0.001). Conclusions: Graduate students in Medicine are in favor of replacing IBM SPSS withjamovi in their future research performance.
