Abstract
El texto examina dos obras del dramaturgo venezolano Edilio Peña: La ópera del suicida y Trompa de elefante, de 2014. Se fija en las representaciones del poder y de sus prácticas de exclusión ideológica en nombre del dinero. El análisis revela la importancia que adquiere el carácter performativo de estas piezas teatrales en la elaboración del acontecimiento dramático, a partir de la contingencia de diálogos, personajes y didascalias.
The paper examines the two 2014 works by the Venezuelan playwrights Edilio Peña La ópera del suicida y Trompa de elefante. It aims at studying how both power and its exclusionary practices on ideological grounds in the name of money are represented. The analysis shows the decisive contribution of the performative character of these two plays to the construction of a dramatic event out of the contingency of dialogues, characters and didascalias.
