dc.description.abstract	En este artículo se examinan las características del sistema español de protección por desempleo. Tras un breve repaso de la evolución y situación normativa, se analiza a continuación el grado de cobertura del sistema, en sus dos vertientes de población cubierta e intensidad monetaria de la protección, para examinar después algunas de las características más relevantes de los perceptores de prestaciones, especialmente desde el punto de vista de su relación con la actividad económica y su situación familiar. El artículo se cierra con un repaso de los principales estudios existentes en lo que se refiere a la incidencia de las prestaciones por desempleo en la salida del paro.
dc.description.abstract	This paper reviews the characteristic of the Spanish public system of protection of unemployed. After a brief review of the evolution and the current legal situation of unemployment insurance, the author studies the relevance of the amount of money which is paid in each case and the percentage of the unemployeds who are paid by the unemployment insurance. Other characteristic of the system are analysed: economic sector where the current jobless were working, family conditions of the unemployed and so on. Finally, the paper reviews the contribution which are available in the economic literature about how unemployment insurance affects the exit of the unemployement.
