Abstract
El presente trabajo analiza las diferentes actitudes que la sociedad rural castellana adoptó ante la expulsión de los moriscos. Especial atención ha requerido el comportamiento de un grupo muy concreto: la oligarquía política y económica, sin duda el sector que más se benefició del destierro, sobre todo en relación a los bienes raíces de los moriscos. En dicho marco, se ha hecho uso de un concepto de Expulsión que trasciende la mera salida de los cristianos nuevos y se extiende más allá de 1614.
This paper aims to analyze the rural Castilian reactions in relation with the Expulsion of the Moriscos. We have paid special attention to the behavior of a specific social group: the political and economic oligarchy, which with no doubt, was the most profitable with the Expulsion, especially in relation with the Moriscos’ real estate. In this background, we have used a concept of Expulsion that extends beyond 1614.
