Abstract
Este trabajo tiene por objetivo de poner en valor la figura de Salvador Gutiérrez de León, como iniciador de una de las dinastías escultóricas más relevantes en el panorama escultórico de los siglos XVIII y XIX. Este artículo aporta algunos aspectos biográficos inéditos que tuvieron su oportuno reflejo en el ámbito artístico y en el modus operandi del artista. Esta documentación nos ha permitido comprender la figura del escultor de una manera más completa, para así a continuación, poder reflexionar sobre las claves que definen su estilo. Por tales razones, quien pretendan encontrar en este artículo un catálogo, no lo hallará.
Abstract: This paper aims to highlight the figure of Salvador Gutiérrez de León, as the founder of one of the most important dynasties in the sculptural panorama of the 18th and 19th centuries, thus providing some previously unpublished biographical aspects that were appropriately reflect-ed in the artistic field and in the artist’s modus operandi. This documentation has allowed us to understand the figure of the sculptor in a more complete way, in order to then be able to reflect on the keys that define his style. For these reasons, whoever expects to find a catalogue in this article will not find one.
