dc.description.abstract	En este trabajo se pretende indagar en la percepción del mundo árabe, especialmente, Siria, según el imaginario europeo. Espérame en el paraíso es la primera novela que narra la guerra civil siria a base de un testimonio de primera mano. Mayte Carrasco, periodista y reportera, vivió dos meses y medio en Siria cubriendo los sucesos de la guerra. Lo imaginario de Gilbert Durand nos ofrece el marco metodológico para examinar el Oriente construido por lo imaginario europeo. El examen de los componentes de lo imaginario occidental sobre el mundo árabe nos sirve para llegar a la conclusión de comprobar si la guerra en Siria ha contribuido en cambiar la imagen del mundo árabe ante los ojos del Occidente.	es
dc.description.abstract	In this paper, we intend to investigate the perception of the Arab world, especially Syria, according to the European imaginary. Wait for me in paradise is the first novel that narrates the Syrian civil war based on a firsthand testimony. Mayte Carrasco, a journalist and reporter, lived two and a half months in Syria covering the events of the war. The imaginary of Gilbert Durand offers us the methodological framework to examine the East built by the European imaginary. Examining the components of the Western imaginary over the Arab world helps us to conclude whether the war in Syria has contributed to changing the image of the Arab world in the eyes of the West.	en_EN
