Description
Abstract
The purpose of the article is to recognize the main historiographical contributions on the study of federalism in the province of Zacatecas, declared as a federated entity on January 17, 1825. Following Nettie Lee Benson's proposal, the institutional trajectory is recovered with the creation of the provincial council as a precedent that impacted on the formulation of Mexican federalism. It is interesting to highlight the wealth of documentary sources, especially the collections related to the legislative, executive and judicial powers. Some of the questions that have been answered will be raised, as well as new problems and approaches that could enrich the political historiography of federalism from its regions.
