Description
Abstract
The European Higher Education Convergence implies some important structural, methodological and technical changes in university life. The mentoring process of university teachers is going to be one of the aspects that will need to be re-adapted and revitalized. In this paper the tutorship is defined and justified as a relevant occupation of the university teacher. The contributions and models of tutorship at university are analyzed, justified and proposed, taking the corresponding frame as reference and including them into it as well as considering the space and the time in which the current university is immersed: the European Higher Education Area and the Society of the Knowledge and of the Information respectively. The tutorial-role, which, one way or another, has always been present at university, is today claimed to answer the new needs and features of current students. It seems appropriate to reflect on it, underlining all its wealth and meaning in the current context of higher education.
