Abstract
El presente artículo estudia once textos teatrales de dramaturgas contemporáneas publicados en España, que abordan la migración como tema. El corpus analizado tiene un claro enfoque sobre el espacio dramático, que conceptualizamos en la intersección entre lo social y lo dramático como un campo de batalla. El espacio se configura relacional y performativamente de tal manera que reproduce aquellas tensiones políticas, sociales y humanas tan inherentes al movimiento migratorio. El teatro destaca por su capacidad de escenificar y criticar las prácticas de control y exclusión estatal, fin para el que se sirve de metáforas espaciales como son mares, muros y fronteras para simbolizar los varios obstáculos que las personas migrantes enfrentan. Aquí argumentamos que el teatro es una plataforma ideal para visibilizar y cuestionar las dinámicas de poder y exclusión, dramatizando las luchas por la pertenencia y el reconocimiento.
Abstract: The paper aims to analyze eleven contemporary Spanish theatrical texts written by women that address the theme of migration. The corpus focuses on dramatic space, which is studied within the framework of the battlefield (campo de batalla), a notion proposed to explore spatiality as an intersection between sociological and dramatic approach. We argue that space is a relational and performative configuration where the political, social, and human tensions inherent in migratory movements become evident. Consequently, the study emphasizes how theater stages and critiques state practices of control and exclusion by employing spatial metaphors such as seas, walls, and borders to represent the barriers migrants face. The paper contends that theater serves as an ideal medium for making the dynamics of power and exclusion visible and for interrogating them, using dramatic space to dramatize the struggles for belonging and recognition.
