El propósito de este ensayo es trazar algunas relaciones entre
la tradición literaria
grecolatina y la del primer cristianismo. Nos centraremos espec
ífi
camente en el ámbito de la
hagiografía y en las falsifi
caciones que en ella se dieron alrededor de los siglos cuarto
y quinto.
Para ello, analizaremos la utilización en ambas tradiciones de
uno de los tópicos de la falsifi
cación
más utilizados a lo largo del tiempo: el del manuscrito reencon
trado, o pseudo-documento, como
elemento autorizador.
The purpose of this essay is to outline relationships between t he Greco-Roman literary tradition and that of early Christianity. We will focus specifi cally on the issue of hagiographic forgeries occurring around the fourth and fi fth centuries, analysing both tradition’s use of one of the most employed resources in forgery: the rediscovered manusc ripts, o pseudo-document, as authorizer.
