Abstract
En este artículo se describen los códigos culturales escolares
referidos al género extraídos de un estudio etnográfico
realizado en un colegio de Educación Primaria. Partiendo
de una revisión sobre aquellos estudios con la misma
perspectiva metodológica y temática, se presenta a
continuación el procedimiento metodológico utilizado, para
pasar seguidamente a exponer algunos aspectos referidos
al género extraídos mediante el análisis de las interacciones
sociales de los iguales en el patio del colegio, explicando
los diferentes significados construidos en este escenario
escolar. Mencionaremos, por último, la utilidad que este
tipo de estudios naturalistas pudiera tener para la reflexión
sobre la práctica de los profesionales de la educación.
This paper describes the school cultural codes related to gender unveiled by an ethnographic study carried out in a primary school in Spain. First, we revise previous research on the topic following similar methodological procedures and describe the research methodology adopted in this study. Next, we show the aspects related to gender that have been identified through observation of the social interactions of equals in the playground and explain the different meanings construed in this school situation. Finally, we argue for the usefulness of this kind of naturalistic study as a reflection on the praxis of educational professionals.
