dc.description.abstract	El presente artículo se pregunta por el papel de los intelectuales, por el de la Universidad y por el de la Pedagogía. Responde, presentando las tendencias que existen en Estados Unidos sobre el rol de la Universida. Desde quienes defienden que ésta no debería inmiscuirse en problemas sociopolíticos, sino dedicarse exclusivamente a profundizar en un conocimiento académico a espaldas de la cultura reinante fuera de sus muros, hasta quienes sostienen que no se puede concebir la profesión del intelectual universitario sin enmarcar su acción de intelectual público en el mundo de la problemática reinante en la sociedad, ante cuyos asuntos debe pensar y actuar pedagógicamente, educativamente, es decir, elaborando una alternativa que se preocupe por solucionar las desigualdades, las injusticias y, sobre todo, por ganar espacios de autonomía y de libertad ante los poderes políticos. El profesorado universitario, para ello, debe contar con el alumnado a quien debe escuchar y permitirle que introduzca su cultura en el seno de las aulas.	es
dc.description.abstract	This paper wonders about the role of the intelectuals, the University, and the Pedagogy. The paper gives an answer presenting the different tendencies appeared in the Unites States about the University role. Starting from the ones who agree that the University should not interfere in sociopolitics problems, but work only in a deepacademic knowledge out of the bounderies of the culture; to the ones who think that it is impossible to see the profession of the intelectual from the University without framing his or her action as public intelectuals within the world of the actual problematic in society. He or She should think and act towards these matters in a pedagogical and educational way even more developing an alernative which worries about the selection in inequalities, injustices, and specially about the conquer of authonomy and freedom spaces against the politic powers. The University teachers, should take into account the pupils to whom they must listen and allow then to introduce their culture into the classroom.	es
