¿Cuál es la razón para que algunos
padres opten por la enseñanza privada para sus hijos o hijas'', ¿qué ofrece la enseñanza privada que le hace ser vislumbrada por algunos progenitores de forma diferente a como lo es la enseñanza pública'' En este artículo hemos pretendido realizar una investigación exploratoria que nos
permitiera aproximarnos a las posibles respuestas a estas cuestiones, así como observar las variaciones que se vienen produciendo en España en los últimos años en relación con la elección entre escuela pública y escuela privada. En un primer
momento comprobamos cómo aparecen dos tipos
de argumentaciones que justifican la selección de la enseñanza privada: por un lado, justificaciones de tipo ideológico y, por otro, razonamientos que podríamos considerar de "clase": sin embargo,
nuestro análisis nos lleva a concluir que las razones que llevan a los padres a elegir un tipo de enseñanza u otro son mucho más complejas.
Abstract: Why somee parents prefer private school for their children? What has private school to make some parents view it in a different way than public school? In this paper we have attempted to make an exploratory research in order to have a good approach to possiblc answers to these questions. At the same time, our research has made possible to us to note somee changes that are going on in last years in Spain regarding the choices between public and private school. At a fírst stage, we show how two diferent kinds of arguments arise to justify the option for private education. On the one hand, we meet ideological justificatíons. On the other hand. we have what may be considered as "class" -arguments. Nevertheless, our analysis led us to the conclusion that reasons that take parents to choose a definite kind of educatíon are much more complex than those.
