Abstract
En este artículo se analiza el
papel que juegan los media en la configuración de nuestro universo simbólico y cómo afectan a los comportamientos individuales y colectivos relacionados con la salud. De modo especial, se analiza la función que cumple la publicidad sobre drogas legales (tabaco y alcohol, en particular) en la configuración de comportamientos drogodependientes entre los jóvenes adolescentes y las tareas que de
ello se desprenden para el desarrollo de la
acción educativa para la salud, en orden a permitirles una autonomía de juicio y una capacidad de acción que contrarreste la avalancha publicitaria a la que se les somete desde todos los medios de comunicación de masas.
Abstract: This article analyzes how mass media have an effect on the configuration of our Symbolic Universe and how they affect to individual and colectives healt behaviors. In a special way, it analyzes the influence of the publicity on legal drugs (tobacco and alcohol, in particular) to shape drug-dependence behaviors in adolescents and also to configure the tasks which follow from it in the development of health educational action, in order to permit an autonomous judgement and action competences, which counteract the advertising avalanche that adolescents are given in from the mass media.
