Abstract
La docencia y la tutoría universitarias son funciones
interdependientes que confluyen en el aprendizaje
del alumno. Una docencia de calidad implica
necesariamente una redefinición del trabajo del
profesor, de su formación y desarrollo profesional;
un cambio sustantivo en su tradicional rol de
transmisor de conocimientos por el de un
profesional que genera y orquesta ambientes de
aprendizaje complejos, implicando a los alumnos
en la búsqueda y elaboración del conocimiento,
mediante estrategias y actividades apropiadas.
Paralelamente, la función tutorial, en sus diversas
modalidades, se plantea como una ayuda
ofrecida al estudiante, tanto en el plano
académico como en el personal y profesional.
Diversas experiencias en este campo son una
muestra fehaciente de ello. Para que el cambio se
materialice en una enseñanza de mayor calidad,
en un aprendizaje que apueste por el desarrollo de
competencias, es necesario que la universidad
valore ambas funciones y que ponga los medios
para hacerlas efectivas.
Teaching and tutorial at the University are interdependent activities, but both of them concur together to the pupils learning. A teaching of quality demands a redefinition of teacher’s work and of his professional training and development. This implies a deep change of the traditional way of teaching: from being a simple a transmitter of knowledge towards a professional who generates and harmonizes complex learning situations, involving pupils in the search and elaboration of knowledge, by using the appropriated strategies and activities. In parallel, this tutorial function, in its several modalities, can be seen as a help which is offer to the students, not only in for academic aspects but also for personal and professional ones. Several experiences in this field are a confirmation of all of this. To achieve that the change materializes in a teaching of quality, in a learning committed with the competencies develop; it is necessary that the University asses both functions and made the ways to make them effective.
