Abstract
No es lo mismo ser hombre que ser mujer. No es lo
mismo ser profesor universitario que profesora
universitaria. Nuestra condición sexuada determina
las expectativas, intereses y acciones sociales.
Desde nuestro punto de vista, el proceso de
convergencia con Europa en el nivel de Educación
Superior no es ajeno a este hecho. En esta
aportación intentaremos abordar la situación de
las mujeres como profesoras universitarias en
España y los retos que plantea el espacio europeo
de Educación Superior para ellas y las académicas
europeas. Creo que ante el reto europeo se puede
optar por la mera convergencia formal o por una
reforma en profundidad de los principios
sustentadores de la Universidad. Esta última opción
podría ser una alternativa para superar la situación
de marginación en la que vivimos las profesoras
universitarias

The latter could be a way to overcome the marginal situation suffered by university female teachers.
