Abstract
The work by competences in the Early Childhood Education Stage requires its own curricular architecture, which gives coherence to the learning process. The present work derives from the Research Project (PIV-006/13) and aims to analyze the voice of 66 nursery teachers about competency work carried out by four of the main publishers in Spain and develop a coherent didactic transposition between competences, evaluation criteria and indicators. For this, in this research, a mixed method of research was used, to offer a broad framework for understanding the use of textbooks in Early Childhood Education. First, an organized Likert scale was designed that groups three areas of Early Childhood Education and with a total of 43 items. Next, the instrument was validated through expert judgment and a pilot test was carried out. Secondly, a discussion group was used to inquire about the fundamental topics of the investigation. The results reaffirm that teachers do not value editorials and their complementary materials as valid instruments for working skills and abilities.
