Description
Abstract
In this article, an analysis of Schwartz's motivational values is carried out that the training teachers give to the historical figures that they consider to be the most representative and significant in the history of Spain, which allows us to treat them as examples of historical cultural icons. For this purpose, an ad hoc questionnaire was used, answered by 708 students of the Primary Education Degree from 7Spanish universities. A non-experimental quantitative and descriptive design. The results lead us to a stereotyped vision of history, starring male characters, mainly politicians and military men linked to the values of power and achievement. A vision of history whose main source of information comes from the school environment, so it is in this area where action can be taken to achieve a change in the paradigm of values to be transmitted.
