Description
Abstract
Miguel Asín Palacios has been a prominent figure in the studies on Ibn ʿArabī that made available to the Spanish readers the figure of the great sage andalusí. His pioneering work influenced to different writers, philosophers, and intellectuals. In this context, we review the controversy that two distinguished historians, such as Sánchez Albornoz and Américo Castro, maintained with regard to Ibn ʿArabī and the model of hispanity that, according to them, was patent in his relations with his teachers and his way of facing life «with his whole being», an Akbarian expression that we will analyze throughout this article.
