Abstract
Este artículo analiza la conflictividad que se originó en la región septentrional del reino deValencia en el siglo XIII en torno al cobro del diezmo y la primicia. Tras la conquista, el reyJaime I y los señores que recibieron posesiones en las comarcas de Els Ports y El Maestrat seadueñaron de estas rentas eclesiásticas y esto suscitó la reacción del obispado de Tortosa, que noestaba dispuesto a renunciar a unos ingresos que le pertenecían. Se abrió, entonces, un periodo dedisputas que fue canalizado a través de las mediaciones de paz y los arbitrajes. Las resolucionesde estos conflictos contribuyeron a definir con mayor precisión la red de señoríos en la regiónseptentrional del reino.
This article analyses the conflicts over the collection of tithe and first fruits which originated in thenorthern region of the Kingdom of Valencia in the 13 th Century. After the conquest, King James Iand the lords who received manors in the regions of Els Ports and El Maestrat took possession ofthese ecclesiastical incomes. This fact caused the reaction of the Bishopric of Tortosa, who wasnot prepared to renounce to some incomes which belonged to it. Then, a period of disputes wasopened and the conflicts were channelled through peace mediations and arbitrations. The resolu-tions of the conflicts contributed to define with more precision the manor network in the northernregion of the Kingdom.
