Description
Abstract
A 2007 report on the neighborhood of El Cabanyal by the television channel Cuatro defined it as one of the most dangerous neighborhoods in Spain; thirteen years later, in 2020, The Guardian included the neighborhood in its list of the ten coolest neighborhoods in Europe due to a clear process of gentrification. Because of that, an attempt is made to iden-tify the importance of the way in which a space is presented to public opinion, through the press, in the construction of the story which serves gentrification, thanks to the study case of the Valencian neighborhood of El Cabanyal.
