Abstract
El presente trabajo relata una experiencia de
enseñanza y aprendizaje realizada en la asignatura de
Historia de la Educación Física y de los Deportes en el
curso de formación de profesorado de Educación
Física en la Universidade de Caxias do Sul en Brasil.
El objetivo fue valorar la importancia del conocimiento
histórico para la formación de los futuros profesionales.
Los alumnos realizaron una pequeña investigación
histórica a cerca de la presencia e influencia del
deporte en sus familias, procurando así comprender
cómo se produjo la opción de los mismos por la carrera
en la Educación Física y Deportes. Al construir y
analizar su propio proceso histórico, los estudiantes
comprendieron mejor lo que es Historia y su
importancia, además de un mejor entendimiento sobre
la influencia de los hechos del pasado en el presente.
This paper reports a teaching and learning experience carried out within the subject History of Physical Education and Sports in the Physical Education Teacher Training course at the Universidade de Caxias do Sul, in Brazil. The purpose was to value the importance of historical knowledge for the future professionals’ training. The students accomplished a small historical investigation about the presence and influence of sport in their families, trying to ascertain why they chose to take a degree in sports and Physical Education. Upon constructing and analyzing their own historical process, the students understood better what History is and its importance . They also gained a better understanding of the influence of what was done in the past on the present.
