The two World Wars brought a trend of humanist revival in search of new values for con-temporary man. Among others, the Second World War particularly left its mark on the work and thought of the French writer Vercors. In this article, we will try to identify and analyse the particularities of the birth of Vercors’ works in the French context of the war and post-war periods. Based on contemporary realities, his first fictions raised questions about the human condition, which Vercors tried to answer in his ethical-philosophical essays. We propose a detailed study of some of these texts in order to create a space of convergence between the ethical and aesthetic identities that characterise the author’s early publications.

- PublicationOpen AccessLes voix du “moi” dans "Enfance" de Nathalie Sarraute.(Universidad de Murcia, Servicio de Publicaciones., 2021) Lipscomb, AntonellaAbstract: If autobiography is the privileged field of the first person narrative, Nathalie Sarraute adopts in Enfance (1983) an original procedure: the dialogue. In her autobiography, the alternation between first and second person singular enable to simulate a dialogue between two instances of the self. This article entitled “Voices of the self in Nathalie Sarraute’s Enfance” aims to analyse this interior duality orchestrated by the two narrative voices where the implicit voices that have shaped the writer’s childhood – voices of the mother, the father and the stepmother Véra – emerge from the past. A polyphony of living voices, as intact as the memories evoked.

- PublicationOpen AccessLa femme maghrébine et française d’origine maghrébine confrontée aux préjugés de la société française.(Universidad de Murcia, Servicio de Publicaciones., 2021) Benaicha Ziani, Naima; Ortiz García, AzuzenaAbstract: France, the founding country of the Human Rights, also known as ‘Host Land’, has received significant migratory flows throughout its history, originating from its former colonies in the Maghreb. In its various generations, Maghreb women are a key element in the overall development of French society. However, the Hexagon has always been reluctant to accept this multiculturalism. Hence, these women are considered as foreigners in their double sense: either they come from outside, or they are strange. This feeling is based on a series of prejudices and stereotypes that gravitate to the French collective subconscious. Thus, this article aims to show the continuing validity of the problematic on French identity.
