The main reason is the inclusion of almost all Parabosco's novels in the Cento novelle scelte compiled by Francesco Sansovino, an anthology that was widely read, cited and imitated in the Golden Age. As I will attempt to prove, Lope de Vega (Los muertos vivos), Castillo Solorzano (Jornadas alegres and Los alivios de Casandra) and Lugo y Davila (Teatro popular) must have read Parabosco's novels -which they did not hesitate to imitate- in Sansovino's anthology.
