    Comment "surintensifier" les expressions d’intensité ? L’exemple des collocations ADJ /V comme SN et ADJ / N à faire VINF.

    In this article we present some syntactic characteristics and a variety of productive semantic mechanisms of the intensi#cation of the collocations selected for this study, namely Adj comme SN ou V comme SN et Adj à (faire) Vinf ou N à faire Vinf. All of them already mark a strong, indeterminate intensity, they express a standard lexical function «intensity» henceforth (Intens), inspired by the simple function Magn of the Mel’þuk’s model, (1996) re$ecting the syntagmatic relation between a base (argument) and intensi#er collocations (predicate). These collocations are combined by overlapping or embedding with other collocations. By these combinatorial operations, one obtains over intensi#ed expressions which are the result of either occasional modi#cation (hapax) without the chance for lexicalisation, or spontaneous motivated modi#cations which may one day become lexicalized. All of them can be productive themselves under the new patterns, e.g. bête à faire pleurer un âne or fumer comme une vieille locomotive à vapeur, etc.

    Les formes sentencieuses dans le discours d’Amélie Nothomb.

    Resumen: La definición de forma sentenciosa sigue sien-do un reto. Un breve resumen de las posiciones teóricas más recientes nos permite encuadrar sus principales características. A partir de un corpus de tres novelas del llamado ciclo auto-biográfico de Nothomb, analizamos la función de las formas sentenciosas en el discurso na-rrativo. Concretamente, identificamos una cate-goría de intensificación lingüística típica de la autora, basada en la relación entre una forma sentenciosa y el desarrollo de su significado en párrafos más largos que a menudo contienen otros recursos intensificadores. Los ejemplos confirman por parte de Nothomb la búsqueda de una comunión de ideas con el lector, basada en el reconocimiento de sensaciones y emocio-nes comunes y explicitada por la forma senten-ciosa, que a su vez se completa con la secuencia de intensificación correspondiente.
